Advancing developer relations: The Linux Foundation’s new initiative explained

0

The Linux Foundation recently announced the intent to create the DevRel (Developer Relations) Foundation, a new community-based initiative designed to support DevRel professionals. At the recent Open Source Summit in Vienna, Austria, we talked to Ana Jimenez, Product Manager at the Linux Foundation, to deep dive into the announcement. Jimenez emphasized the lack of a clear definition for DevRel roles and the need for a community-driven, neutral platform where DevRel practitioners can exchange insights and best practices.

The DevRel Foundation aims to address key challenges in the industry, such as demonstrating business value and building best practices. It is a non-funded, community-driven initiative within the Linux Foundation, leveraging existing communities and resources. Jimenez talks about the ongoing process for the formation of the foundation that involves community feedback through surveys and calls, with the goal of creating an inclusive and collaborative environment for DevRel experts.
