Amazon has open sourced the AWS DeepRacer device software, making it easier for developers of all skill levels to prototype new and interesting uses for their DeepRacer car.
With the open source code, users can quickly and easily change the default behavior of the car — enabling rapid prototyping of robotics applications using the DeepRacer car and device software.
AWS DeepRacer gives you an interesting way to get started with reinforcement learning (RL), an advanced machine learning (ML) technique that takes a very different approach to training models than other machine learning methods. It learns very complex behaviors without requiring any labeled training data, and can make short term decisions while optimizing for a longer term goal.
“Whether you’re mounting a Nerf cannon on the car with the DeepBlaster project, creating visualizations of your home or office with the Mapping project, or coming up with new ways of racing your friends and colleagues with the DeepDriver project, you can do all that and more with the open source code and sample projects,” explained a blog post.
Documentation is available in GitHub and open for collaboration with thousands of community members in the AWS DeepRacer Slack channel.
