According to a Bloomberg report, Microsoft and ChatGPT maker OpenAI are investigating whether a group linked to Chinese AI startup DeepSeek improperly accessed OpenAI’s technology.
Microsoft’s security team detected suspicious activity last fall, identifying individuals believed to be associated with DeepSeek extracting large volumes of data via OpenAI’s API—the primary gateway for businesses to access OpenAI’s AI services, Bloomberg News reported Tuesday.
