Edge Computing Brings Computing Where You Need It, Contrary to The Cloud

Rob Hirschfeld, CEO and Founder of RackN explains, “Edge computing is like a cloud. Everybody sort of has their own definitions of it. For me, it’s when you’re putting compute on-site – on-premise. It could be in a telephone pole, in a car, in an intersection, in a store. It just means that it’s, in some ways, classic IT. I’m doing computing work at the place where I need to do the work instead of a remote location, like the cloud.”
