The creators and maintainers of Fluentd and Fluent Bit have announced the launch of Calyptia Cloud, a cloud-native enterprise observability pipeline solution for optimization of data between applications and workloads. Calyptia Cloud provides a hosted, turnkey enterprise version of Fluentd and Fluent Bit that relieves the burdens of management and monitoring, so that customers can focus on analytics and observability of data flows between cloud-native resources, wherever they reside.
Open source projects Fluentd and Fluent Bit are deployed millions of times per day in cloud and containerized environments. Fluentd is an open source data collector for building a Unified Logging Layer, and was the 6th project to graduate from the CNCF after Kubernetes Prometheus, Envoy, CoreDNS and containerd.
Fluent Bit is an open source Log Processor and Forwarder for collecting data such as metrics and logs from different sources, and is also a CNCF hosted project under the Fluentd umbrella. It is used by Google Cloud, AWS, Microsoft Azure, and many other cloud service providers.
As the company puts it, Calyptia Cloud builds upon Fluentd and Fluent Bit to ensure that first mile observability is even more reliably collected, observed, logged and optimized, and transformed from a multitude of sources such as applications, infrastructure, or networks.
