Lens by Mirantis has announced Lens Prism, the first fully-integrated, production-grade AI assistant built directly into the Lens Kubernetes IDE. Designed to simplify Kubernetes operations, Lens Prism allows developers and operators to troubleshoot and manage clusters using natural language—removing complexity while preserving enterprise-grade security and control.

Also announced: a new One-Click AWS Integration that enables users to instantly discover and connect to Amazon EKS clusters across regions and accounts—without any command-line setup or manual credential management. This streamlines infrastructure access and positions Lens as a centralized Kubernetes operations hub.

“We’re addressing the number one complaint of Kubernetes, which is complexity,” said Miska Kaipiainen, head of product for Lens at Mirantis. “Lens Prism puts the power of a site reliability engineer (SRE) inside every developer’s IDE.”

Context-Aware AI for Kubernetes Troubleshooting

Unlike browser-based copilots or standalone tools, Lens Prism is embedded into the Lens Desktop app and scoped to the user’s real-time cluster context—including namespace, workloads, and RBAC permissions. Users can ask intuitive questions such as: “What’s wrong with my pod?” “How much CPU is this namespace using?” “Is anything failing in my cluster?”

Lens Prism returns actionable responses generated from live kubectl output, logs, and metrics, and provides copy-ready commands to help resolve issues faster.

Secure by Design, Integrated by Default

Lens Prism adheres to the user’s existing kubeconfig and operates strictly within defined RBAC constraints. This ensures that every query and suggestion remains within approved access levels, maintaining secure and compliant workflows.

The new One-Click AWS Integration enhances multi-cluster visibility by eliminating manual configuration. It allows users to connect to Amazon EKS environments with a single click, improving productivity and reducing the chance of misconfiguration.

Available Now in All Premium Plans

Lens Prism and One-Click AWS Integration are now available to all Lens Premium plan subscribers (Plus, Pro, and Enterprise) at no additional cost.

Lens, used by over 1 million Kubernetes users, is the most widely adopted Kubernetes IDE. It supports all certified Kubernetes distributions and helps users manage, debug, develop, and monitor workloads across clusters on any infrastructure—from the desktop.
