Guest: Cynthia Coupé (LinkedIn)
Project: Open Mainframe Project (LinkedIn, Twitter)

In this episode of TFiR: Mainframe Matters recorded at the Open Mainframe Summit in Philadelphia, I caught up with Cynthia Coupé, CEO of Outreach, Advocacy, Resources and Services (OARS) Inc., to delve deep into her approach towards Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) in the mainframe ecosystem.

Coupé is a speech-language pathologist who works in the field of neurodiversity. Neurodiversity has always been around, but the business community is just beginning to understand it. The term refers to a number of brain differences, including autism, ADHD, anxiety and dyslexia. Coupé is a neurodiversity educator whose TED talk caught the attention of the Open Mainframe Project (OMP) and they invited her to host a panel discussion at the 2022 summit.

I touched on a wide range of topics with her in this interview to understand her perspective on DEI within the mainframe community and how we can make it even better.

Check out the interview above which I consider among one of my best interviews on the topic.
