Universal Music Group Accelerates AI Patent Strategy with Liquidax Partnership

Universal Music Group (UMG) has announced a strategic partnership with IP advisory firm Liquidax Capital to advance and commercialize its growing portfolio of AI-powered music technology patents.

As part of the deal, Liquidax will support UMG in the development, filing, and global licensing of patents aimed at enhancing artist marketing, content creation, rights management, and more. Since 2020, UMG has led the music industry in AI innovation, with 15 patents already filed and two issued, spanning musical collaboration, multimedia campaign generation, and AI threat protection.

To operationalize this initiative, a new entity—Music IP Holdings, Inc. (MIH)—has been established to bring UMG’s AI technologies to market worldwide. The move underscores UMG’s intent to solidify its leadership at the intersection of music and artificial intelligence.

By partnering with Liquidax, UMG signals its long-term commitment to embedding AI into the creative and commercial backbone of the music industry.
