AR Capable Contact Lens Coming Soon

0

California start-up Mojo Vision is reportedly working on an AR capable contact lens, to provide users with a seamless augmented reality experience. Seems straight out of science fiction series?

Well, Steve Sinclair, the senior vice president of product and marketing at Mojo Vision, is betting you’ll be so excited that “you’ll forget all about the fact that using it requires you to press two tiny screens up against your eyeballs,” as reported by Digital Trends.

Imagine putting a piece of tech directly onto your eyes, it means no more lifting the screen device and pointing the camera to see the AR effects. Mojo Vision envisions people to avoid using smartphones and laptops as they will have their own screen attached to their eyes.

Earlier this month, the company raised more than $51 million as part of a Series B-1. The funding round was led by New Enterprise Associates (NEA), along with Gradient Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Liberty Global, Struck Capital, Dolby Family Ventures, Motorola Solutions Venture Capital and others.
