Joseph Sirosh, the former head of AI and Research at Microsoft, has joined real estate technology company Compass as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

In his new role, Sirosh will lead Compass’ engineering team and develop new AI-powered products for the entire real estate ecosystem with a focus on Compass’ 7000+ agents. He will also be responsible for scaling Compass’ technology platform to capture global real estate supply and connect it to worldwide consumer demand.

At Microsoft, Sirosh led the development and expansion of Microsoft’s cloud AI and Data products over the last five years. Prior to Microsoft, Sirosh was the Vice President of the Global Inventory Platform reporting to the CEO of Amazon’s Consumer Business.

He was an early innovator in Machine Learning at Amazon and built and led a variety of groups including a central machine learning team and the Transaction Risk Management group. Sirosh holds a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin.

Following the close of its $400 million Series F, Compass has doubled down on its technology investments and talent strategy. In the last six months, Compass nearly doubled its technical team and expects rapid growth to continue in 2019.
