Mirantis Renews Commitment to Swarm for Another 5 Years

Mirantis, the Kubernetes-native AI infrastructure company, is extending enterprise support for Swarm for another five years. Delivered via Mirantis Kubernetes Engine (MKE), the move underscores continued demand for Swarm’s low-overhead orchestration capabilities—especially in hybrid environments where simplicity and operational efficiency are critical.

Now in its fifth year under Mirantis, Swarm remains a key MKE component. The company continues to invest in the technology, improving its usability, bolstering security, and enabling hybrid orchestration with Kubernetes. More than 100 enterprise customers rely on Swarm in production, and interest continues to grow.

“Swarm’s simplicity and low operational overhead make it ideal for use cases that don’t require the full power of Kubernetes,” said Dominic Wilde, SVP of Marketing at Mirantis. “We still see regular sales inquiries for Swarm.”

Many Mirantis customers run mixed environments with both Kubernetes and Swarm nodes, using MKE as a bridge to Kubernetes adoption when ready. MKE also delivers robust security with FIPS 140-2 validated encryption and support for DISA STIG-compliant deployments, including features like TLS, RBAC, and image signing.

With this extension, Mirantis reaffirms its commitment to giving enterprises orchestration choice while securing workloads at scale.
