OVHcloud has announced Managed Bare Metal Essentials powered by VMware and upgraded customizable bare metal servers as part of the kickoff to this year’s annual Ecosystem Experience.
Managed Bare Metal Essentials helps OVHcloud customers who are not in need of the full suite of features available as part of the Hosted Private Cloud solutions. They benefit from a pre-installed virtualization layer in a secure infrastructure environment in a cost-efficient way.
According to the company, this combination of automation and familiar toolsets makes traditionally cumbersome tasks like moving to the cloud for disaster recovery, datacenter extension, and datacenter replacement a seamless and secure transition.
OVHcloud will offer Scale and High-Grade servers starting January 2021 which are optimized for complex and resource-intensive tasks. These servers are designed by OVHcloud experts, in partnership with hardware manufacturers and software publishers.
These include Software Defined Storage (SDS), Hyper Converged Infrastructure (HCI), Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), High Performance Computing (HPC), Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning (AI & ML), and Cloud Gaming platforms.
OVHcloud will make Managed Bare Metal Essentials available in mid-November.
In addition to the in-house development of bare metal servers, OVHcloud owns a 20Tbps global fiber backbone providing customers with network access at no cost.
