SoftIron Ltd has appointed Andrew Moloney as vice president of strategy to lead the company’s go-to-market planning and execution as it expands both its product portfolio and global presence.
The appointment comes hot on the heels of SoftIron’s recent securing of a $34 million dollar Series B equity funding round. The company will use to the fund to deliver task-specific data center appliances that are built to optimize leading open-source software, eliminating vendor lock-in and enabling better performance and efficiency.
Prior to joining SoftIron, Moloney founded and led his own consulting firm for nine years, advising, developing and helping execute go-to-market strategies for numerous technology organizations. Before this, he held senior leadership positions with a number of businesses across a spectrum of technology sectors, in both VC funded startups and large enterprises.
He has been involved in a number of technology “waves” in a career that spans almost 30 years, including creating and leading the SMB business line at 3Com (now HP) through the explosion of data networking in ‘90’s, the growth of PaaS/ cloud technologies, BYOD and mobile data, and the birth and expansion of digital audio broadcasting.
Moloney’s last enterprise role was in the information security sector, where he held a number of business development and marketing positions with RSA Security, finally leading their EMEA marketing team. Moloney will continue to be based in the UK.
