Here’s a smart device that can lend you a helping hand in sorting your garbage. Oscar, or better defined as the AI trash bin, features a 32-inch display and AI-powered camera to identify the items in your hand and guide you in properly disposing of them.
Created by Intuitive AI, a startup, Oscar may soon be seen in busy settings such as airports, universities, and large corporate campuses. The company is mulling over selling its AI solution to corporate social responsibility teams and property managers in these areas.
The solution is currently being tested in an airport in Vancouver, Canada and also Simon Fraser University, Intuitive AI CEO Hassan Murad disclosed at the Deep Learning Summit held recently in San Francisco.
The system is also part of the training process to identify trash items from partially visible visual cues.
